Man caused damaged after he
head-butted a kitchen window

A 21-year-old man caused damage to a kitchen window by head-butting it, Craigavon Magistrates Court heard last Wednesday.

Ryan Canavan, whose address was given as Carrigart Manor, Craigavon, was fined £150 for criminal damage on January 28 this year.

He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that at 4.20pm police received a report of a disturbance at Richmount Gardens in Lurgan.

There had been a verbal argument and Canavan wanted to speak to his girlfriend.

He went into the rear garden and head-butted a kitchen window causing damage.

He told police: “It was an accident. I am going to pay for the damage.”

A barrister representing the defendant said that alcohol was a factor.

He added that the window had been repaired.

There was nothing else pending against him, the solicitor added.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said there was nothing of a public order nature on the defendant’s record so he could deal with the matter with a fine.
