A man arrested following the search of a house in Portadown has appeared in court charged with attempted murder, kidnap and possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances
The 20-year-old man, who was arrested in Churchill Park on Tuesday, appeared at Newry Magistrates Court on Saturday morning.
Detectives charged him with two counts of attempted murder, kidnap, possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and a number of drugs offences.
As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
The charges are believed to relate to two shooting incidents in Newry on Thursday, September 17 and also the search of a property at Churchill Park in Portadown on Tuesday, October 20. Suspected drugs and firearms were discovered during the Portadown search.
