A Portadown man who dropped his trousers and exposed his bottom to police was fined £250 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for indecent behaviour on December 27.
Damien James McKernan (32), Woodside Hill, Portadown, was also fined £50 for resisting a constable and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
The court heard that around 2.10am in William Street, Lurgan, McKernan, who was standing outside a takeaway, made a gesture to a passing police vehicle.
He then pulled down his jeans and exposed his bottom. He became aggressive towards police and had to be put on the ground.
Mr Gabreil Ingram, representing the defendant, said McKernan’s record was of some vintage and he had not come to police attention in recent times.
He explained that his client had been out on Boxing Day night with some friends and had taken far too much alcohol.
Mr Ingram said McKernan ‘exposed his derrière’ to police and then struggled with them.
Deputy District Judge, Mr Neil Rafferty, said the language, which was not read out in court, used by the defendant was ‘tasty’.
“It was a very expensive night out,” added Judge Rafferty.
“I don’t want to see you back in court. I think you are better than this.”
