Man given 120 hours community service for his behaviour

A 24-year-old man was given 120 hours community service last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

At court the previous week Martin O’Hagan, Old Fort Lodge, Craigavon, admitted disorderly behaviour and indecent behaviour on June 25 this year.

The case was adjourned so that a short sentence report could be obtained.

A public prosecutor said that O’Hagan was seen urinating against a wall outside the Courthouse bar in William Street in Lurgan. He tried to walk away from police and claimed he had just been pouring out a drink. O’Hagan began shouting and swearing and despite being warned about his behaviour he persisted.

A solicitor representing the defendant said he had been assessed as suitable for community service and although he had work commitments he would make himself available.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates Imposed community service for both offences.
