Man had six ecstasy tablets in his pocket

When police saw a 24-year-old man place two small bags into his jacket pocket they searched him and found the bags contained ecstasy tablets.

Renatas Garnys, Clendinning Way, Portadown, was fined £175 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for possession of a class A drug on November 15 last year.

He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that around 11pm police in Thomas Street, Portadown, saw the defendant with two small bags in his hand which he placed in his jacket pocket.

Police searched him and the bags contained six tablet of ecstasy.

When interviewed Garnys said he found them on the floor and put them in his pocket.

A solicitor representing the defendant said he accepted the drugs were for his own use.
