The 42-year-old man is due to appear in court today charged with the abduction of a child in Armagh yesterday.
The incident took place at the Armstrong Primary School on College Hill.
The child was recovered a number of hours later in Belfast.
A man and woman were arrested at the scene and a man was charged with attempted abduction last night.
The man was due to appear in Banbridge Magistrates Court.
The woman (35) was ‘released unconditionally’, a PSNI spokesperson said.
A PSNI spokesman said, “The arrests followed the report of a young child being taken from school premises in Armagh city on Tuesday morning.
“An investigation was immediately put into place by police and enquiries led to Belfast where the man and woman were arrested and the child recovered.”
