A police vehicle had to brake sharply to avoid a collision when a car pulled out in front of it, Craigavon Magistrates Court heard last Wednesday.
Ryan Coulter (20), Riverview, Craigavon, was fined £75 for driving without due care and attention on September 7 last year.
He was also given three points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
The court heard that at 1.35am in Thomas Street, Portadown, a car with ‘R’ plates on it pulled out in front of a police car which had to brake sharply to avoid a collision.
Coulter told police he was sorry and that he usually drove slower.
Defence solicitor Gabriel Ingram told the court that Coulter was in the car with a friend when his friend’s phone went off and momentarily distracted him.
