There had been a verbal altercation and the manager told Soares he was terminating his employment.
The defendant began shouting and swearing and then punched him. Soares left the premises, went to the car park and kicked the manager’s car causing damage amounting to £885.55.
The case had been adjourned from a previous court so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.

He added that on being challenged Soares finally snapped and after punching the manager stormed out and kicked his car.
He lost his temper completely on this occasion, added the barrister.
District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said he did not normally consider community service appropriate for this sort of case but it had certain features.
