A Portadown man was fined £150 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for using a mobile phone while he was driving.
Thomas James Warnock (30) of Kernan Avenue, Portadown, also received three points and was ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
The court heard that on March 1 this year on the Lurgan Road, Portadown, Warnock was seen driving in the direction of Lurgan.
He was holding a phone to his right ear and was talking into it.
Police stopped him and he refused to have the matter dealt with by a fixed penalty, saying he would attend court and plead guilty.
A solicitor representing the defendant said he would apologise for his behaviour and he should have known better.
He had a similar offence in 2012 on his record.
