A man brandishing a gun stole cash during an armed robbery in Portadown last night.
The incident happened at commercial premises in Thomas Street around 8pm
The man entered the premises armed with what has been described as a black gun. He demanded cash from the staff member. The culprit made off with a sum of cash. It is believed he fled the scene on foot.
The male is described as approximately 5’8” tall and he was wearing jeans and a green hoody, with the drawstring of the hoody pulled tight around his face. He spoke with a Belfast accent.
Detective Inspector David Henderson said, “I would appeal to anyone who saw this man or who knows anything about this incident to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime at Ardmore Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
