Marina base for GlenarmPost Office

Larne Council received a letter from Post Office Ltd requesting the use of the building on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 1.30pm, stating that the venue “provides better parking facilities” than other locations in the village.

The local authority agreed to the request, but councillors expressed some concerns about facilities being located at the marina.

Coast Road Councillor Maureen Morrow said: “If people come to use the Post Office at the marina, they may not spend time in the village. Glenarm needs people to shop in it, so it would be good to keep business in the village centre if possible.”

Alderman Roy Beggs recommended that the arrangement should be temporary, and that the Post Office should move to the village centre when other premises become available.
