Motorist caught at 93mph on Dungannon road

Police on mobile patrol at the A4 Dungannon on September 24 detected a car traveling at excess speed, East Tyrone Magistrates Court has heard.

Thirty-seven year old Stephen Michael Devlin from Lambrook Close, Omagh was clocked at 93mph on a road restricted to 60mph. On being stopped and spoken to Devlin accepted the speed and apologised for his actions.

In court a defence solicitor explained his client was on his way home to Omagh from work, when he overtook two vehicles and increased his acceleration when passing the second vehicle in order to get back in lane.
