A Lurgan man who had a few beers with friends and then drove has been fined £300 and disqualified for 12 months.
Andris Zivtins, of Princes Street, was stopped by police in Tavanagh Avenue, Portadown, on June 12.
Craigavon Magistrates Court heard on Friday that the reading was almost double the allowed limit. Defence solicitor Conor Downey said Zivtins, a process operative, had a completely clear record.
Also, at the same court, Owen McDaid (22) of Lough Road, Lurgan, admitted failing to provide a specimen and driving while unfit.
The defendant was stopped in Albert Street on April 29 by police who noticed his eyes were glazed. He was fined £350 and a £15 offender’s levy and disqualified for 15 months.
