The North Armagh Family History Society starts its new season on Wednesday September 21.

The society is one of eleven branches of the Northern Ireland Family History Society (NIFHS).

Its objective is to foster an interest in family history with special reference to families who have roots in the North Armagh area.

The society meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm in Bleary Business and Community Centre at 1 Deans Road Bleary.

Members are asked to please note the new venue.

A programme of interesting talks is organised for the meetings, and members have an annual outing to places of interest for local and family history.

In recent years this outing has taken the form of a mystery tour.

In June this year the tour was to Carnmoney, Ballynure, and Antrim.

The theme of the first meeting of the 2016/2017 season is ‘Who Do You Think You Are…?’ looking at how to get started in researching your family history.

Everyone is welcome, especially new members.
