North Antrim Horticultural Association 82nd annual show

NORTH Antrim Horticultural Association will hold their 82nd Annual Show on Saturday 21 August.

The venue will be The Parish Centre at Queen Street, Ballymoney. This event attracts a large number of exhibitors from a wide area, as was seen last year when we had the largest entry for many years.

There will be the usual wide range of classes for flowers, fruit and vegetables, home industries and handcrafts. Entries are welcome from all-comers and those who have not received a schedule can obtain one from Auldwyn Calderwood, Show Secretary, Tel: 2765 7477 or Kenny Bacon, Tel: 2766 6925.

Mrs P MacCarthy-Morrogh will officially open the Show at 3.00pm followed by the presentation of Cups.

The Show opens to the public at 1.00pm and after viewing the many exhibits they can relax and enjoy a cup of tea provided by Ballymoney Women’s Institute. The Show is a wonderful opportunity, not only to see the result of the best horticultural and related skills, but also to meet the exhibitors and pick up or share the tricks of the trade. At 4.30pm members of the public will have the opportunity to buy the produce at the traditional auction.

The Association will this year be supporting NI Chest, Heart & Stroke as their nominated charity for 2010.

Admission for adults will be 1, while children accompanied by an adult will get in free. Everyone will be made most welcome at this 82nd Annual Show.
