Quiz success for Fairview
Second place at the event, held at Mossley Mill on Wednesday, January 28, went to The Thompson Primary School, with Ballyclare Primary School taking third spot.
A total of 11 schools from throughout the borough took part in this year’s quiz.

Hide AdEach team was made up of four P7 children, and all the participants showed great knowledge of road safety issues.
Police Constable Brian Herron was the quizmaster and he was assisted by members of the committee.
Mayor Thomas Hogg was welcomed to the event by Chair of the Road Safety Committee, Mrs Pat Martin.
Addressing the children, Alderman Hogg stressed the importance of the road safety message and presented medals to the top three teams.

Hide AdNichola Pearse of Cornmarket Insurance Services (formerly Adelaide Insurance Services) presented the Adelaide Cup - a perpetual trophy - to the winning team.
Mrs Martin praised all the pupils who took part in the quiz and thanked Alderman Hogg and the council for giving the committee free use of the facilities at Mossley Mill and providing goody bags for each of the children.
She went on to thank Newtownabbey Borough Council for its continuing financial support and Cornmarket Insurance Services for providing the trophy.
Newtownabbey Road Safety Committee is a voluntary organisation which aims to promote road safety in the borough. Membership is open to all residents and any issues of concern in relation to road safety matters can be raised with the committee.
