DUP Councillor Darryn Causby has warmly welcomed the parking improvement scheme being carried out in Tullyroan Drive in the town.

He said “I have been lobbying and fighting for improvements in parking for local residents in Tullyroan Drive for some three years and I warmly welcome the work that is currently ongoing.

“A number of local residents contacted me about issues with parking and access to their properties and the difficulties they were having.

“It was then our fight began, I engaged with NIHE who owned the land to seek a resolution to the issues raised and was assured a resolution would be found. I was informed that the Housing Executive were to prepare a scheme to carry out the necessary works and finally we see the results of that.

“Of course, it has taken a significant length of time, much longer that I would have liked however, I know once this work is completed that elderly and disabled residents and their families will have greater and easier access to their homes hopefully making life a little bit safer and easier. I would like to put on record my thanks to NIHE for finding a practical solution to help address the needs of local residents.”
