Pension benefits are not claimed

OVER £2.3 million in Pension Credit is unclaimed weekly, a Craigavon councillor has said.

And Sinn Féin Councillor Paul Duffy has called on all members of the community to join in the Age NI Spread the Warmth Campaign by ensuring that the older members of our community are receiving their entitlement.

He said: “Many people are unaware of what they are actually entitled to and even when they are aware they often find the process of claiming is just too complicated. A single phone call could help them receive what they are entitled to. A free benefits check can be obtained by phoning the Age NI Advice Line freephone 0808 808 7575 where an advisor will speak to you in confidence and help you find out what your entitlements are.”

Mr Duffy advised the older people in the community to contact one of their local representatives or the Age NI Advice Service without delay.
