Coronavirus: Newtownabbey volunteers supporting children with additional needs during pandemic

Groups of generous volunteers have been providing assistance to children with additional learning needs during the Covid-19 outbreak.

Members of Listening Ear and Abbey Allsorts have been preparing and delivering children’s activity packs during the lockdown. The kindhearted effort has been supported by Rathcoole Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership.

Commenting on the initiative, Brian Kerr (Listening Ear) said: “The latest packs have been delivered by local community volunteer drivers to children with additional needs. A large percentage of these packs have been specially assembled for the needs of the individual child.

“We hope that these packs will support and assist these young members of our community during this period.”
