Jordanstown Sports Village: Community Consultation event to be held

Members of the public will be able to view plans for the redevelopment of the sports facilities at Ulster University’s Jordanstown campus at a consultation event today (Thursday).

The proposed development consists of a two-storey extension (circa 2,840 gross sqm) to the existing High-Performance Sports Centre.

A planning application notice for the project was submitted to Antrim and Newtownabbey Council in August.

The new facilities, if approved, will include a gym, fitness suites, physio room, student sports clubhouse, teaching/event space, extended reception area, changing rooms, equipment stores and ancillary multipurpose rooms.

Associated site development works include soft and hard landscaping, all services, plus part realignment of internal access road.

Today’s event will run between noon and 7pm in the Jordanstown Sports Centre. It will be hosted by the Project Architect and Estates Project Manager supported by senior members of Sports Services.
