PICTURE GALLERY: GB and BB displays

A member of Dunluce Girls Brigade has become the first girl in the company to complete the Queen's Award.

Lyndsey McKeown was the 'star of the show' at the annual display in the Church hall when her proud mum, Joanne, not only pinned on the Queen's Badge, but also her Brigader Brooch.

Lyndsey will now go to Belfast City hall to be presented with her Queen's Badge certificate.

Captain of the company, Jean Sharpe, congratulated Lyndsey on her efforts as well as praising Laura Walker and Michelle McAfee, two officers, who were Lyndsey's mentors.

The display was held before a packed audience and was chaired by Rev. Stephen Carson who welcomed special guest, Rev. Canon George Graham, Rector of Dunluce Parish Church.

As usual, the Company was turned out in a professional manner and delighted the audience with a varied and interesting programme covering Scripture, Education, Physical and Service subjects for their badge work.

In her report, Mrs. Sharpe acknowledged all those who had supported the Company throughout the year and referred to the collection from their Enrolment Service on November 15 which raised 254.52p. for the Children's Ward of the Causeway Hospital.
