DUP councillor appointed to Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council
Linda Irwin will fill the seat in the Macedon District Electoral Area.
Cllr McCullough resigned from Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council after he was co-opted onto Belfast City Council last month to replace former Deputy Lord Mayor, Guy Spence, in the Castle DEA.

Hide AdConfirming the appointment, a spokesperson for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council said: “Council received notification on May 4 from the Electoral Office that Linda Irwin has been returned to fill the vacancy for the Macedon District Electoral Area.”
Commenting on Linda Irwin’s selection, DUP Group Leader, Ald Phillip Brett, said: “I am delighted to welcome Linda Irwin to our DUP group on Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
“Linda is an experienced community activist who will serve the people of Macedon well.”
South Antrim DUP MLA, Pam Cameron, added: “Congratulations to Linda Irwin who begins her role as an Antrim and Newtownabbey councillor representing Macedon. Linda has been a great local constituency worker in Newtownabbey and north Belfast for years and will be a great addition to the DUP group!”
