Teams from all over Northern Ireland revived their banger cars and drove over 200 miles in a weekend completing a range of challenges and raising money for Cancer Focus NI along the way, in a bid to win the coveted Rusty Nuts Rally trophy.

The rally, in cars worth £500 or less, took place across the North Coast, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Armagh and Down along the route.

Portadown was represented by the organisers team The Rusty Riddlers, which comprised of Hannah Rodgers, Kieran O’Neill & Mark Troughton. Kieran said “We were delighted to be able to take part in the Rusty Nuts Rally, as well as organising it and we would like to thank everyone from our local area who donated to this wonderful cause. The Rusty Nuts Rally was a fantastic weekend and I would encourage anyone interested in the event to get involved next year.”

Hannah said: “We were delighted to get across the finish line after what was a great 3 days’ of events. I would like to personally thank everyone who donated to the Rusty Nuts Rally, and a special word of thanks to all our sponsors without whom this challenge simply couldn’t take place, namely Todds Leap Activity Centre, Eddie Irvine Sports Centre, Sheep Island View Hostel, ASR Graphics, and Alltrak Rallysport. Kieran added, “Thank you to each and every one of the magnificent teams who entered, our support crew and everyone who assisted us during the event”
