After postal workers were hurt on duty, posties are in fear that cutbacks might mean that people will not get important documents.
Two workers were hurt in a car accident last weekend, leading to a shortage of staff.
One member of staff contacted us as they felt the lack of staff could lead to potential issues regarding the delivery of important documents and personal items such as children’s birthday presents.
However, a Royal Mail spokeswoman said: “We are pleased to report that both members of staff who were recently injured in a car accident are back at work and that there are no staff shortages at Craigavon Delivery Office.
“Royal Mail would like to apologise to any customers who experienced late deliveries last week.”
A spokesperson for the Communications Workers Union Colin Mallon said: “Thankfully the two staff weren’t too badly hurt this week.“
Mr Mallon said he hoped issues of overtime and staff shortages may be resolved.
