Invest NI has been praised for its role in helping create 1,649 jobs last year as part of future projects in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon council area.
Sydney Anderson MLA said the support of Invest NI also resulted in the creation of 1,411 new jobs in the council area in 2014/15.
He has followed recent developments closely and said, “Invest NI must be praised for the way they have greatly assisted job creation in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon council area.
“During 2014/15 Invest NI offered over £25 million of support to businesses in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon. Undoubtedly, Invest NI have provided a clear programme to support business development, to attract high quality inward investment and to also stimulate a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation.
“Since its inception, Invest NI has exceeded many of the targets which have been set for it by the Executive. For instance, between 2011 and 2015 Invest NI have helped to promote approximately 37,000 new jobs against an Executive target of 25,000 new jobs.”
