Realm works praised

Sidney Anderson of the DUP said at Monday's council meeting the criticism of the schemes had been unjust.

He said: "The contractors have worked tremendously hard since the work began. You can't do any job where you don't cause disruption, even if it's just DIY around the house."

Mr Anderson said the public realm works have come in for a lot of criticism, both fair and unfair. He said now the schemes were nearing completion both towns could look forward to a good Christmas with new furniture and lighting due to arrive very soon.
