Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has launched a major recruitment for community (part-time) firefighters in Lurgan Fire Station.
For the first time ever, NIFRS is recruiting for a new daytime contract when firefighters must be available for at least 40 hours per week, normally between 8am and 6pm from Monday to Friday.
NIFRS wants to recruit people who can respond to Lurgan Fire Station within five minutes of being alerted by pager. Community firefighters help protect the local community and respond to emergency incidents such as fires and road traffic collisions. They will also respond to other specialist service calls, including chemical spills, collapsed buildings, and other types of rescues.
Recruitment information nights are being held in Lurgan Fire Station on Tuesday, June 30 and Tuesday, July 7 from 7 to 9pm. More info at www.nifrs.org/careers
