Response to ‘queue-jumping’
The Northern Ireland Housing Executive has responded to claims of ‘queue-jumping’ on the housing waiting list in Carrickfergus.
“The waiting list is based on a number of factors: family size, age, whether or not there is a disability and so on,” said Colm McQuillan, NIHE Director of Corporate Services. “Each of these factors sees the applicant accumulate ‘points’ which may then place them as a higher priority than someone with less points who has been on the list for longer.”
