Portadown’s retailing sector has received another boost with the opening of the clothing shop At The Studio at Magowan Buildings.

The Portadown branch is the third of the Dublin-based chain to open in Northern Ireland, the others being at Rushmere and Bloomfield in Bangor.

It’s a major boost for Portadown, with the branch occupying the premises of the former NV shop which closed earlier in the year.

A spokesman said, “We offer the latest trends in fashion as well as reliable favourites for men and women.

“For men, we have brands like Jack & Jones, including a massive selection of denim. For women, we stock Vero Moda, ONLY and Pieces – something for everyone and we take a pride in our customer services. Our offers are among the best in town.”

The spokesman added, “Portadown is the perfect location for our continued expansion. It’s very gratifying to see a number of new stores opening in the town centre, and breathing new life into the area.”

Three new jobs are being created, with Adam Brown the area manager.

The Rushmere store is the group’s flagship branch in the province and opened in the spring creating a number of jobs.

Branches of At The Studio are also located in Dundrum, Dublin and Glasgow, as well as other parts of the UK.
