Rev McClelland conducts his last service in Tandragee
The Rev George McClelland conducted his last service as minister of Tandragee Presbyterian Church on Easter Sunday, retiring after seven and a half years in Tandragee.
Previously he had ministered to Lislooney and Knappagh (Co Armagh) and Magheragall (Lisburn) congregations.
Before the congregation Mr McClelland thanked the Tandragee worshippers for their support during his term and said he had enjoyed working in the town proclaiming the Reformed Christian message, with the backing of a very loyal kirk session and committee and the leadership of the various organisations attached to Tandragee Presbyterian Church.
The church’s clerk of session Keith Johnston led the tributes to Mr McClelland and made presentations on behalf of the congregation and elders. Messages of good wishes to Mr McClelland were extended from Canon Shane Forster and his congregation, with the gift of an ornamental cross.
Aside from his Presbyterian ministry, the Rev George McClelland was for four years national director of the Boys’ Brigade in Ireland.
