Roads Service to deliver new traffic calming measures for Laurelvale

PRESSURE from local residents has prompted the Roads Service to introduce a number of traffic calming measures in the Laurelvale and Mullavilly areas.

The Roads Service proposes to introduce a mini-roundabout, 14 pairs of speed cushions, a single cushion, 4 gateway features and two priority control build outs.

A spokeswoman for the Roads Service said, “Two informal consultation sessions to present traffic calming options have taken place with local residents in the Laurelvale/Mullavilly area.

“On that basis Roads Service has now gone to formal consultation and adverts describing the proposals were placed in the local press last week.”

Members of the public wishing to see plans of the proposals can do so by visiting the Roads Service Section Office at 17 Ballynahonemore Road Armagh or Marlborough House, Craigavon. Any comments regarding the proposals should be made to Roads Service Marlborough House Central Way Craigavon before February 1, 2008
