Roadshow at Foyle College

Pupils at Foyle College had an opportunity to enjoy some tasty recipes recently when the Lidl Roadshow paid the school a visit.

Over 100 pupils got to enjoy some tasty recipes created by the supermarket’s Chef Ambassador Chris Bell. The recipes, using the best of local produce from key suppliers, were demonstrated and served to the pupils live in an inflatable dome. Once the pupils had tasted the delicious recipes and saw how easy it is to cook healthy meals from scratch using local produce, they could enjoy some fun filled activities such as ‘Popcorn’ a parachute game where pupils put soft balls in the parachute to make waves and also ‘Dishes and Domes’, better known as ‘Cups and Saucers’, which were facilitated by the Lidl Games Asssistants.

The pupils also got to meet some big names in radio in the Province, as U105 presenters including Frank Mitchell, John Daly, Maurice Jay and Julian Simmons introduced the Roadshow and hosted live interviews which were later screened on radio.

Suzanne Torsney from Lidl, said: “Each pupil who experiences the Lidl Roadshow can bring home these lessons for all the family to enjoy as each pupil gets a goodie bag containing recipe cards and money-off coupons to help them get started.”

Each of the pupils who participated received a goodie bag which included recipe cards, samples and a chef’s hat and water bottle.
