A cat which was originally microchipped in Australia, before turning up as a stray in London in 2004, has now been found in Laurelvale.
Ozzie, as the elderly male cat has been nicknamed, was handed in to the local branch of Cats Protection .
Gillian McMullen said the cat’s colourful past had come to light via the microchip company.
She said, “The cat was starving but was wearing a collar and had been cared for. We want to reunite him with his owner.”
that had been hanging around her garden for several days.
The poor cat was in starving but obviously had been cared for in the past as it was wearing a collar.
I took it to Willow Veterinary Clinic on the Mahon Road where we discovered it was microchipped and this is where the mystery begins.
The cat had originally been microchipped in Australia!!
Then in 2004 he turned up as a stray in a London vet clinic but no details where ever logged against the microchip.
