Six held after cash van robbery in Lisburn

SIX men have been arrested after a cash in transit delivery driver was robbed at knifepoint in Lisburn.

He was making the delivery on the Belsize Road on Thursday morning when he was threatened by a man wielding the weapon, who forced him to hand over a cash box.

The robber made off in a car.

In a follow-up operation the six men were detained in a house in Poleglass, where a cash box was recovered.

A car has also been removed for forensic examination.

All six men are being questionned at Antrim Serious Crime Suite.

Police said it was the second successful arrest operation in the past two months.
