Social workers make a difference
World Social Work Day is celebrated around the globe to highlight the work that social workers carry out and give them recognition for their invaluable contribution to society.
The Southern Trust is supporting the Northern Ireland Association of Social Workers 10 day social media campaign ’10 days – 10 ways #swmakesadifference’ – which will be highlighting the important and varied role that social workers have.

“I am very proud to know that the social care workforce in the Southern area are genuinely committed to protecting vulnerable people from harm or abuse, helping people to live independently and acting as advocates for those who need support.
“Throughout the next ten days we will be encouraging our social workers to share their experiences of how they make a difference right across all of our programmes of care from older people, adults, children, to those with mental health issues, physical and learning disabilities in both hospital or community settings.”
