A 23-year-old man has been fined at Craigavon Magistrates Court after spitting at police.
Kyle Kane whose address was given as The Olde Golf Links, Portadown was accused of assaulting a police constable on May 6 this year.
When Deputy Judge Neil Rafferty asked the nature of the assault at last Wednesday’s sitting, the court heard Kane had spat at the officer.
Kane’s defence lawyer said his client had seen red and took it out on the officer.
Judge Rafferty said: “Spitting is a disgusting form of assault.”
He fined Kane £250 and ordered him to pay a £15 Offenders’s Levy.
