Stranger danger '˜a misunderstanding'
Police have said there was nothing untoward in two incidents in which children were approached at Clonmeen last night (Thursday).
In an earlier Facebook post police had reported two ‘disturbing incidents’ in which children were approached by men in a van.
Posting this afternoon (Friday, September 9) police said: “You will have seen a post we made last night on this page about suspicious approaches in Clonmeen. We are very pleased to tell you that, following enquiries, these incidents have been found to be a complete misunderstanding. There was nothing untoward in either incident.
“We do not like to alarm parents but it is always good to make your children aware of stranger danger. Fortunately, in this case, there was nothing to worry about.”
