A 27-year-old man who struggled with police outside a nightclub was fined £75 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for disorderly behaviour.
He was Sean James Kennedy, Roes Hill, Laurencetown, and he admitted the offence which happened on February 7 this year.
The court heard that police went to the Euphoria nightclub at Mandeville Street, Portadown, where the defendant had been restrained by door staff.
He was shouting and swearing and then began to swear at police before struggling with them.
A solicitor for Kennedy said he was not prone to this sort of behaviour and only had one previous offence in Banbridge eight years ago.
She added that he was extremely ashamed and embarrassed and this was totally out of character.
He had no recollection of what happened due to his intoxication, the solicitor said.
Imposing the fine and a £15 offender’s levy, District Judge, Mr Desmond Perry, told Kennedy that he should ‘learn from what happened’.
