Portadown company Kingspan Environmental welcomed a group of students from Castleblayney College in Monaghan recently.

The students were given a tour of the factory and saw the processes involved in the production of solar thermal tubes and tanks.

They also had a chance to hear directly from staff about their own educational backgrounds and career paths.

Mairéad Mohan, development officer, Junior Achievement Ireland, said, “The opportunity for students to be hosted by Kingspan Environmental, when they are at a critical age where they are starting to think about possible careers, allows them to see first-hand what the working world is like and by interacting with local business leaders aids them to make informed choices about their future.”

Gerry McDermott, HR director for the Kingspan Environmental division, said, “We are delighted to support Junior Achievement Ireland. It is a fantastic initiative. It was a pleasure to host  the students from Castleblayney College.  Hopefully we have inspired some of the pupils to join our team in the future!”
