Support the Angel Foundation Dance

Gillian’s sister-in-laws Adele Elder and Cynthia Elder set up the Gillian Adams Angel Foundation in her memory, determined that the mum-of-three’s death won’t be in vain as they help other cancer sufferers.

On Saturday 13th February, the Foundation is holding a Dinner Dance in The Hedges Hotel and already tickets are selling fast. Adele Elder, one of the Foundation’s charity explained: “The Dinner Dance is one of a number of fund raisers we are having for the foundation. At the moment we have raised £20,000 which is just amazing, people have been so supportive.

“The money is used to help families affected by cancer in the Ballycastle, Ballymoney and local rural areas. We have application packs in local doctors surgeries and if someone wants to apply for help they can pick one up there. They need to get the form signed by their GP and then post it back to us.”

The charity helps families whose lives have been affected by cancer by providing vouchers to help with groceries, heating, travel for transport to treatment or family fun day vouchers.

Adele added: “Times are hard enough for people as it is but when you are affected by cancer different issues arise and although Gillian and the family weren’t affected finnancially, when she was diagnosed they struggled in different ways.

“When we set up the charity we wanted to highlight the different problems and so the District Nurse suggested the provision of vouchers. It’s nice knowing we are able to help other families and I think Gillian would be proud of what we are doing.”

Tickets for this very worthy charity’s dinner dance are selling fast. “Tickets cost £27.50 and you get a three course meal plus entertainment by magician Rod Hogg, Bone Idol and DJ Barry Thompson,” concluded Adele. There will be an auction and a raffle with some amazing prizes, its a night not to be missed.
