Take the ‘Zip the Lagan’ challenge

With Mencap’s ‘Zip the Lagan’ Challenge fast approaching in Belfast on September 21, the learning disability charity is asking adrenaline seekers from Lisburn and the surrounding area to help it reach new heights in fundraising by taking part in the cross-river challenge that can benefit people with a learning disability and Mencap services.

Mencap’s regional fundraising manager, Vanessa Elder exlained: “I am actually looking forward to it, it’ll be exhilarating and a fun way to raise the money we need to enable the thousands of people with a learning disability and their families we support to live their lives the way they want.

“For me, it also one of the ways I’m hoping to cure my fear of heights so I am psyching myself up for it as a way of getting ready for higher things next year with the Mencap skydive. ”
