The One who has chosen you is aware of each tear

Keep faith alight whatever befalls

And welcome whatever the season brings,

Though at present shadows obscure your pathway,

Lend an ear to the bird that sings.

Renew your mind and things will look different,

Conscious that prayer will lighten the load;

Hope without substance is a faithful thing,

Let’s with the Saviour make our abode.

Press on firmly, secure in the knowledge

His great love will banish all fear,

Ever mindful the One who has chosen you

Is aware of each inward tear.

Though life we know is variable,

Let’s give thanks for our unchanging Lord,

You will find the answer lies within Him

As we rely on the written word.
