Took car without father’s consent

A Gilford man who took his father’s vehicle without his consent was also driving without having any insurance.

Michael Wylie (27), High Street, Gilford, was fined £120 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent on January 25 this year.He was also fined £250 and given six points for not having insurance.

The vehicle was located on the Tandragee Road being driven by the defendant. Wylie made a full admission of taking the car without his father’s permission and not having insurance.

His solicitor said the defendant, who suffered from clinical depression, took the car for a drive to clear his head.
