Wade Training, which provide youth and apprenticeship training in Portadown, Lurgan and Newry, have been acquired by employment and learning organisation People 1st.

The acquisition is part of the expansion strategy which saw the company recently open offices in Letterkenny, Dungloe and Buncrana in Co Donegal.

People 1st now offer a range of government funded training, employment support initiatives and corporate training solutions through 11 offices in towns and cities across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Managing director of People 1st Bernie Daly said the company was in “an exciting growth phase” and that she was “looking forward to extending training and learning opportunities to increasing numbers of young people”.
