Twinning plan

MEMBERS of Mayo County Council are to visit the Borough next month as part of a possible town twinning between Ballina and Craigavon.

The delegation will visit Craigavon for what is described in Council minutes as a “twinning luncheon”.

It was suggested that the guest list include councillors, the Chief Executive and Upper Bann MP David Simpson.

Sinn Fein councillor Mark O’Dowd suggested that the local MLAs be invited as well.

Around 40 will attend the event, at an estimated cost of £300-£350.

The event is due to take place on Tuesday, November 22.
