Two convicted of benefit fraud

Two men were convicted at Craigavon Court on Tuesday last for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.

Ivan McGuinness (49) of Bayview Park, Craigavon, claimed Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £13,091 while failing to declare an occupational pension. He was given a six month prison term suspended for two years.

Martin Keegan (57) of St Pauls Place, Lurgan, claimed Jobseekers Allowance totalling £4,969 while failing to declare employment. He was given a four month prison term suspended for 18 months. Both are also required to repay the money.
