Two injured after Markethill crash


Two men were injured after a collision between two cars on the Newry Road, near Markethill on Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened near the entrance to Gosford Forest Park just after 3pm.

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) and the ambulance service responded were on the scene within minutes.

Firefighters assisted ambulance personnel to rescue a 21-year-old man from one car. A 31-year old man was out of the other vehicle.

Both casualties were taken to the Daisy Hill Hospital by ambulance.

Fire crews from Armagh and Newry stations attended the incident.
