Two men injured in hate crime assault

An assault on two men outside a bar in Woodhouse Street is being treated as a hate crime.

The victims, aged 25 and 29, sustained facial injuries in the attack which took place shortly after 11pm on Friday, April 3.

Two men, aged 23 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. They were later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Constable Stephen Somerville said, “We are treating this as a hate crime and would like to hear from anyone who has information.”
