Expert engaged tomeet A&E targets
The Western Trust engaged an expert to help improve peformance at the Altnagelvin A&E Department last year.
According to minutes of the Trust’s November board meeting Chief Executive Elaine Way said the most challenging performance issue was in respect of the four hour target.
“She said figures report an excellent performance against the 12 hour target with the Western Trust having the lowest number of 12 hour breaches in Northern Ireland,” the minute reads.
It goes on to reveal the Trust “engaged the support of an expert in improving Emergency Department (ED) performance” and that a work programme had been agreed.
