The Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) constituency advice centre in Tandragee is to close from this Friday.
Recently re-elected MLA Danny Kennedy said he regretted the “difficult decision” but that under new rules only one constituency office for each member of the NI Assembly is now allowed.
He said he will maintain a full and comprehensive constituency service from his Markethill office.
Mr Kennedy said, “I fully understand the disappointment and frustration of my constituents in the Tandragee area regarding the closure of this busy office, but the determination by the Independent Financial Review Panel into Assembly Salaries and Expenses left me with no other option and I have reluctantly taken the difficult decision to close the office.”
He said he and his staff will continue to deal with constituency problems and conduct constituency surgeries and appointments from the office at 47 Main Street, Markethill.
